Important information on COVID-19 for Alberta tenantsBritish Columbia tenants

Have you been affected by COVID-19? Concerned about your rental payment? We have options.

We understand that many of our tenants have been affected by layoffs and the financial impacts of Covid-19. We at Live Furnished & Homelife Guaranteed Realty would like to do our part by ensuring that tenants have a place to come to if they are having a hard time making their rent payment.

To give you a little background Live Furnished is a Property Management Company that provides management services to landlords. Our landlords are not major companies but individual owners who are also being impacted by Covid-19 like yourself. Our landlords have families and are experiencing the same job layoffs and financial strain as our tenants. Our landlords rely on these rent incomes to cover mortgage payments, condo fees & utility bills for your unit.

During this time it is important we come together and work as a team to minimize the stress for everyone. The Canadian government has opened up multiple programs for tenants and owners alike to access financial support. Every landlord and tenant may or may not have the ability to access different programs. Here is a link to the Governments website with more information: Economic Response Plan

At this time should you have any concerns about your ability to make your rent payment we ask that you look into the resources available from the government and fill out the form below. We ask tenants to do their part to secure financial aid through the government programs and we are asking our owners to do the same. Alberta GovernmentBritish Columbia Government

Per the Alberta Government:

  • Landlords and tenants need to work together to develop payment plans while COVID-19 is being managed.
  • Landlords can still file applications and receive orders for possession if the reason for the eviction is unrelated to rent and/or utility payments, or if a tenant refused to negotiate or comply with a payment plan.

Per the British Columbia Government:

  • Do I need to pay my rent for April? Yes, you should pay your rent for April. The rental supplement program will be accepting applications in mid-April.
  • BC Housing is working with the Province of BC, BC's health authorities, the BC Centre for Disease Control, the Public Health Agency of Canada, and other partners to monitor COVID-19. Learn More

The more information you can give us the better. We will be looking at every situation on a case-by-case basis with the landlords and we hope you get back to you with an answer right away. We will do our absolute very best to negotiate appropriate payment plans for you at this time.
